Since 2018, Alkmaar has been working on a digital copy of the city. Since last year, Clappform has been part of the scrum team helping to build the future of this Digital Twin as part of the Network of Local Digital Twins (NLDT). 

All information linked to a location is integrated into a single interactive map, ranging from city level to street level. This is structured across three information layers featuring baseline figures for a broad audience, scenarios for council and policy, and expert analyses for specialists. 

The case study details how water storage during heavy rainfall is calculated, how parking pressure is made visible using satellite imagery, and how the central government's quality of life models are linked to physical data layers, enabling calculations for the social domain as well.  

By utilizing open standards such as OGC and Common Ground, components and data layers remain reusable for other municipalities and regions. The complete customer case study can be read via the link below this post.
