Going digital is no longer a choice, but a necessity. In this high-paced society it can sometimes be a challenge to keep up with the expectations of customers. It’s just not enough anymore to build the right software; to ensure an optimal customer experience, the software should also be fast and of the highest quality.
At Clappform we are well aware of this trend and we believe in the value of an efficient digital transformation. How? We believe that the product or service you deliver should be sustainable and, at the same time, you should be able to do quick tests to check whether it works properly. How can we achieve this? One way to do this is by using low-code platforms, where you can launch different applications in a quick and easy manner.
What is Low Code?
Low code is a form of software development that is focused on visually designing applications. For us, Clappform, this means that we use low code to design the actual user environment and for setting up configurations instead of using programming code to do this.
Features of Low Code Software
What’s the difference between “no-code” and “low-code”?
No code literally means not using any programming code and everything you make is done by “dragging and dropping” different components. Nowadays, designing websites has become a lot easier by platforms that offer no-code solutions. An example is WIX, which enables people to design a website without having any programming knowledge.
The difference between low code and no code is that a low-code platform enables developers to integrate their own software code into the platform. With a no-code platform this is not possible, and you are limited by the interface for building your application. Clappform is a low-code platform as we program our analytics portion of our solutions. This means that we can perform more complex analyses, but it also means that data scientists need to be familiar with Python. However, as research shows, almost every data scientist is familiar with Python. In addition, 84% of the more than 18,000 respondents from 150 countries indicated that Python is the main programming language they work with.
Low code is often used to build more complex workflow applications. We, Clappform, extended our low-code platform with a Python module to profit from both worlds. With the Python module, we can do complex and insightful analytics, while we also profit from the flexibility of a low-code platform in terms of data visualization and workflow. Finally, our low-code platform also gives us the opportunity to add ML and AI modules for customers if necessary.
