What a finale!

This year, Clappform participated as a case organization in the AI Lab of VU Amsterdam (School of Business & Economics). Two talented student teams spent weeks tackling a challenge close to our hearts: data-driven crowd management around large-scale event venues.

The challenge? To develop an innovative, data-driven business model that enables better prediction and coordination of mobility flows around event locations, from modal split forecasting to real-time crowd management.

The students pitched their business model innovations in a "Dragon's Den"-style setting. Our colleague Bastiaan Kuijt sat on the jury alongside Robin van Ruitenbeek, Marco Vugts, Eric de Groot, and Erik Kommol.

Both teams delivered outstanding work, and the results speak for themselves. Out of seven pitches, it was our Team 2 (Jonas Klemetsen, Karlo K., Tijmen Oudejans, Daniël Kim, Filip Woźniak, Kerem Ipekci) that took home first place, with Team 1 (Victoria de Koeijer, Bas van Ark, Bas Verhoeff, Daan Zeldenrijk, Vincent Evers, Lars van Stenis) claiming a strong second place. Congratulations to all students for your sharpness, creativity, and dedication!

A special thanks to Erik Kommol and Frans Feldberg for inviting us and for the excellent organization of this program. It was truly inspiring to see the next generation bring a fresh perspective to our challenges.
